My name is Edward Zhang and I am a 13 year old private investigator. Those of you who will continue to read will find how to master observation and deduction, such as that used by Sherlock Holmes. If there are any professional matters you would like to consult with me, I should gladly be able to help you.

Introduction: The Science of Deduction
Deduction is the use of observation and logic to infer things. Deduction is composed of three elements:
•60% observation
•30% logic
•10% imagination
There are many key features to look at while making certain deductions about someone/ something such as:
• Facial features
• Type of dress
• Body language
• Condition of hands
• Temper
• Scratches or dents
• Age
• Etc

Part One: Observation
Observation is one of the most important parts of making deductions. Contrary to popular belief it is not the same as seeing. For example, you see a flight of steps a couple of hundred times, yet you do not know how many there are. But if you have observed you will find that there are thirty steps. Even the smallest details and the smallest scratches are essential to deductions.

Part Two: Logic
Logic is the second most important part of deduction and without it all you have observed is useless. To understand logic, you must practice, and by no means is it elementary. When solving a crime, one must use logic to come up with all possible explanations and after eliminating all possible explanations, the remaining, however improbable must be true.

Part Three: Imagination
Imagination is a key fundamental part, as you cannot some up with probable explanations to things you have observed and thus your logic means nothing.
